Let’s make it simple: you help a business sell its offer online, and you earn a commission when you close a sale.
Think about a business owner or creator selling a mentorship, coaching program, service, or software. They have something valuable to offer, and people are reaching out to learn more. But before someone makes a bigger investment, they often want a conversation.
That’s where a remote closer comes in.
You meet with potential customers over the phone or Zoom, understand what they’re looking for, and help them decide whether the offer is the right fit.
Here’s how an inbound remote closing role works:
The business attracts the leads.
The company handles its marketing, content, and lead generation. You don’t need to build a personal brand, post on your own social media, or pay for leads yourself.
People express interest, go through the company’s booking or qualification process, and schedule a call. These are called warm leads because they’ve already shown interest in what the business sells.
Trust me, I’ve knocked on enough doors to appreciate the difference between interrupting someone’s day and speaking to someone who asked to learn more.
You lead the sales conversation.
You run a discovery call: ask questions, listen, understand their current situation, and find out what they want to accomplish.
Then, if the offer fits, you explain how it can help, answer their questions, address concerns, and guide them through a decision.
Interest doesn’t automatically mean someone is ready to buy. Your ability to communicate, build trust, and lead that conversation is the skill you’re getting paid for.
You close the sale and earn a commission.
When someone purchases, you earn a commission based on your agreement with the business. The company then delivers the product or service and handles fulfillment.
Your role is to help the right customers make an informed decision and become clients.
Why did I choose this path?
Because it gave me a way to earn through a skill I could take with me. I could work remotely, travel while working, and build more flexibility into my life.
Your schedule, lead flow, and commission structure depend on the company and role. But remote sales can give you a path toward more freedom while doing valuable work for an existing business.
